Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  What is “Planck Storytime”?
A:  For one, it’s a really bad pun.  Other than that, it’s a site I cooked up on a whim to showcase my writing, which typically includes short fiction, poetry, critical essays, and movie reviews.

Q:  Who are you?
A:
I’m a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a passion for literature and film.  My blood-type is O-Negative.  I can lick my elbow.  I haven’t had any cavities.  My favorite color is purple.
This is all so you can potentially pick me out of a police line-up and/or identify my corpse.

Q:  What’s your writing process like?
A:
I pass out and wake up in strange places holding a manuscript that I hate.

Q:  What are some of your favorite books?
A:  Always a big question, and one that mandates intellectual grandstanding.  So I’d have to say Ulysses, or Infinite Jest, or maybe On the Road.
Just kidding.  I haven’t read any of those.  My favorite book is Dune by Frank Herbert.  I don’t see that changing any time soon.  I suppose I’m pretty into “speculative fiction” (a term that literary critics contrived because “sci-fi/fantasy” was way too embarrassing).
I also love Shakespeare’s Richard III, Hyperion by Dan Simmons, and The Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon.

Q:  How about movies?
A:
Jurassic Park, The Fall, Big Trouble in Little China, The Thing, Blade Runner, Django Unchained, In Bruges, Four Lions, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Q:  Favorite video games?
A:
#1 is Ocarina of Time.  #2 is Mass Effect 2.  It starts to get blurry from there, but the list includes:
Dragon Age:  Origins and Inquisition, Dark Souls/Bloodborne series, NieR and NieR:  Automata, Metroid Prime, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Knights of the Old Republic, Metal Gear Rising:  Revengeance, Life is Strange, Super Castlevania IV, Deadly Premonition, and plenty of other Zelda games.

Wow, I really wish this wasn’t the longest list on here.

Q:  Is anyone even reading this stuff?
A:
Unlikely.
